Hi! My name is Jeffery Abdulateef-Adoga, and I am a Product Designer based in Lagos, Nigeria. I have a genuine passion for building effective design teams and solving problems that affect people’s lives while driving an impact on society. I aim to do this by building products that create room for accessibility, inclusion, and financial empowerment.

In the last 5 years, I have gained experience working as a Web Developer, Business Analyst, and UI/UX designer at leading product and technology companies in Nigeria and the US, and now, I work as a Senior Product Designer at Interswitch Group. In this role, I work as a senior designer among other designers and product managers to flesh out concepts for our end-user products like Quickteller and build internal tools for our staff.

Three things that excite me are, learning about how things are made, why they were made, and how they are meant to function. I also find joy in simplifying complex problems or ideas and helping others to understand them. One of my strengths lies in my ability to collaboratively design highly functional, appealing, usable, and intuitive interfaces by taking advantage of my visual design skills and prior knowledge of the logical implementation of programming tools in web and mobile application software development.

I am also skilled and experienced in designing complex end-user solutions using informed design practices such as identifying user and stakeholder needs, through contextual research or field studies, usability testing, and subject matter interviews. These skills enable me to effectively contribute to companies’ business practices where my knowledge of requirements gathering, design thinking, GUI design, and prototyping are used to prove the tangibility of concepts or ideas that substantially impact the company’s decision-making when building sustainable products. Moreover, I excel at leading teams and serving as a mediator or analyst because I am not leery of having meaningful discussions and asking the tough questions needing answers from stakeholders, end-users, as well as product and engineering teams.

I am eagerly looking for new and exciting opportunities where I can further learn and develop myself, as well as effectively contribute to long-term business strategies and organizational growth while designing world-class products with a team that has great design values and a product/user-centered design culture that cares deeply about its customers/users, partners, and design team.
